Day 01: Arrival at Guwahati
On arrival at the Guwahati airport after traditional Indian style ‘Swagat’ (Welcome) by Exceptional Escapes representative, he would assist you at the airport & transfer Hotel.

Day 02: Guwahati – Kaziranga (220 Kms 4 hrs approx. drive)
After an early breakfast drive to famous Kaziranga National park. This sanctuary hosts two-thirds of the world's great one-horned rhinoceroses, and is a World Heritage Site.
Check into a Jungle resort on arrival. In the afternoon visit nearby Tea Estate and Tea Tribes village.

Day 03: Kaziranga
Early morning explore Central Range of Kaziranga National Park on Elephant Safari. On return explore the Eastern range on a Jeep safari. Return for lunch and proceed to Western Range of Kaziranga National Park on Jeep.

Day 04: Kaziranga - Kohima (225 kms / 5 hrs drive)
Post breakfast check-out from the hotel and drive to Kohima; Kohima is derived from the word "Kew Hi Ma" which means the men of the land where the flower Kew Hi grows. Situated at an altitude of 1444 m above sea level, Kohima is the Capital of Nagaland. Like other Naga settlement Kohima shares the same feature standing on top of the surrounding mountains. In true sense, fusion of different culture with a blend of modernasim turns Kohima to a fast growing city.

Day 05: Kohima
After breakfast leave for sightseeing of Kohima.

Visit, The Kohima War Cemetary:

Constructed in the memory of the officers and soldiers who made supreme sacrifices during World War II, the war cemetery attracts hundreds of visitors every year including the relatives of those martyrs. Maintained by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, the cemetery witnessed more than 2000 graves, on each grave there are beautiful epitaphs carved in bronze. 


Kohima village: Popularly known as Bara Basti (Big Village) the Kohima village is one of the largest village in Asia. Inhabited mainly by the Angami tribes it is divided into 'khels' or localities. A large traditional wooden gate welcomes you to the village which is elaborately carved with warriors and weapons and the skull of the mithun, a symbol of prosperity.

Khonoma Green Village: Located 21 kms away from Kohima town the Khonoma village is the first "green village" of Nagaland. The village is well known for the legendary leader Angami Zapu Phizo who was the founder of the Naga movement. It is in this place where the Naga warriors made their last endeavor against the British aggression in 1879. 'Khonoma Nature Conservation and Tragopan Sanctuary' (KNCTS) was initiated to create the environmental awareness among the inhabitants and reserved about 70 sq km of its village forest. The village is also famous for the fallow management of its alder trees which balances nature in the surrounding areas.

Day 06: Kohima – Sibsagar (225 kms / 5 hrs drive)
After an early breakfast depart for Sibsagar. Visit remains of Ahom Kingdom who ruled Assam for 500 years before giving in to British.

Day 07: Sibsagar (Explore Ahom Kingdom) – Jorhat (52 kms / 1.5 hrs drive)
Post breakfast leave ofr sightseeing.
Visit to Tai Ahom Museum and the Maidams (Mummy like structures) of Ahom kings Burial grounds at Charaideo.

In the afternoon drive to Jorhat. The "Tea Capital of the World" On arrival check into Hotel.

Day 08: Jorhat
Morning beakfast at the hotel and visit Thengal Mansion, a historic ancestral house of a Tea Planter amidst an Asssamese village, 15 kms from Jorhat. The 72-year old Thengal Mansion is to answer the queries on Assamese culture and tradition.
Back to the hotel by lunch. After some rest, take a walk in a nearby village to see the simplicity of their lives.

Day 09: Jorhat – Shillong (350 kms / 7-8 hrs drive)
After an early breakfast check-out from the hotel and drive to Shillong. Have Lunch en-route at Barapani Umiam Lake, a majestic placid lake with its surrounding sylvan hills.
Post lunch drive to Shilong and check-in at the hotel.

Day 10: Shillong
Post breakfast leave for sightseeing of Shillong, admire the beauty of Shillong also called Scotland of the East. It is erstwhile capital of undivided Assam; present North-East and home to the Khasi Highland tribes.

Visit Elephant Falls, it is in Upper Shillong area which also houses the Eastern Air Command of Indian Airforce. The scenic fall is not continuous and more of collection of smaller falls. It has footpath leading to bottom of fall where it reaches a small lake. Its name elephant falls was given by British. Because there was a rock by the side of fall which resembled elephant. The rock was destroyed in earthquake.
Wards Lake, an artificial lake surrounded by a fairly large garden. Boating facilities are available in the lake. It has a wooden bridge at the middle. Lots of lotus plants with leaves are there on either side of lake. One can find lots of colourful fishes in the lake.
Lady Hydari Park, the park has variety of local flowering plants and orchids. It also has a small zoo within it. Children wiil like it as there are few swings, sea-saws, slips for them. It is a famous picnic spot for local population. This park is named after the Lady Hydari, the first lady of the state, wife of the Governor of Assam. This park has a mini zoo and a deer park, which is spread over more than one kilometre.
Golf course, Shillong golf course is located at an altitude of around 5200 ft. This is the first golf course of India which has 18 holes in it. This place is like a dream come true for the putters. This golf course is so beautiful and located at the unique location that sometimes it is compared with the Glen Eagle Course” of the United States.
Don Bosco Centre on Indigenous Cultures, Run by the Salesian order of the Catholic Church, the Don Bosco Museum is a truly amazing repository of information on the entire North Eastern states of Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim and Tripura. Located within the precincts of the Sacred Heart Theological College, Mawlai, the edifice itself is shaped like a spiral and its distinct form is discernible from quite some distance away. It has an amazing collection of tribal attires, accoutrements, weapons, ornamentation and rare photographs. This is also the largest cultural museum in the whole Asia. Fr Sebastian is the priest who has taken up the cause of preservation of art and culture with 'missionary zeal!

Day 11: Shillong – Guwahati (100 kms / 2.5 hrs)
Post breakfast check-out from the hotel and drive to Guwahati.
Evening spend on a river cruise to watch the sun go down the river and see yourself why the river is locally called 'Luit'- colour of blood.
