Char Dham

Char Dham simply refers to the four highly revered pilgrimage sites of India. It comprises Gangotri, Yamunotri, Keadrnath and Badrinath which are situated on the upper Himalayas in Uttrakhand. Every year thousands of devotees visit these holy places in search of inner peace. Some tourists call it a revival of soul and mind and for some it is the most fascinating way to get close to Mother Nature. The Yamunotri Temple in 2024 will open on May 10, 2024 and close on October 31, 2024. The temple opens on the occasion of Akshay Tritya, each year, and closes on Bhai Dooj, which is on November 3, 2024.

The Gangotri Temple is scheduled to open on May 10, 2024, and close on November 2, 2024. The opening date is Akshay Tritiya, which is the third lunar day of Baisakh month. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Ganga and is located at an altitude of 3,048 meters in Uttarakhand

The Kedarnath Temple in the Garhwal Himalayas will open on May 10, 2024 at 7 AM, and close on November 2, 2024. The temple is closed for the winter, and the date of opening is determined by priests at Ukhimath's Omkareshwar Temple after calculating Panchang.

Badrinath Temple in Uttarakhand, India, opens on May 12, 2024 at 6 AM and closes on November 9, 2024. The temple is part of the Char Dham Yatra, a significant Hindu pilgrimage that also includes Yamunotri, Gangotri, and Kedarnath shrines. The Char Dham committee and Kedarnath Badrinath Mandir Samiti announce the opening and closing dates before Akshaya Tritiya, also known as Akha Teej.

Attractions

Yamunotri
This is known as the sacred home of Goddess Yamuna, situated gracefully on the foot of Kalind Parvat. The surroundings are truly majestic and mesmerizing. It is famous for glaciers and hot water springs like Surya Kund, Gauri kund and Saptrishi Kund.

Gangotri
With the rich historical past, this place with exhilarating natural beauty surely fills one’s mind, body and soul with utter peace and serenity. It is situated 280 km from Rishikesh.

Kedarnath
With the breathtaking surroundings, Kedarnath is the most stunning place amongst the Char Dhams. It is nestled between mystical mountains which gives a welcome break from the crowded streets of cities. The Kedarnath Temple stands exquisitely flaunting marvelous architecture.

Badrinath
Situated on the banks of Alaknanda River, Badrinath is the holy place where pilgrims come to experience spirituality. This place is also famous for several hot water pools like Tapt Kund and Narad Kund, known for their medicinal values.
